Someone who is watching in 2024 I cannot say I didnt sob. I just cried for 11 minutes straight because it did get better! I am so proud of you and your family for fixing eachother. happiness is a choice and you took that and showed us that even in the hardest times of your life you can get up and be motivated. In all honesty, I couldn’t imagine the shame of doing something like this, my loved ones knowing, my kids knowing, the kids at their school knowing, ans the whole world knowing. There was a time here where.. I was worried for Shay’s life. I can’t imagine that sort of depression, everyone moment of the day reminded of how much you messed up and all the shame that goes along with that. I’m glad him and Colette have worked things but out.. but.. Shay, if you ever do it again I genuinely hope she leaves you because that woman deserves nothing but respect. She is a saint of a mother and wife. I hope the family can heal, and I hope the kids also got therapy because my gosh, would this all be hard. I have noticed you guys seem more.. real. Down to earth. It seems this has humbled everyone. I hope the local backlash wasn’t substantial and damaging to the kids. I imagine many in such a religious community have have become hypocrites and ostracized the family.

That's just around the time the thing happened with this latest allegation by the woman whose name I can't type in here lest this comment get deleted. (It probably will anyway.) Innnnnteresting. The fans still think it was "only one night of drunken texts." They have no idea the extent of this man's betrayals. He and C are doing everything in their power to brush this under the carpet, at the expense of everyone else's mental health. It's horrendously unempathic. During my father's disciplinary hearing for h@r@ssment in the workplace (he was found guilty and lost his job), my mother did the whole "stand by your man" dance too. To keep up appearances and "for the kids." As one of the kids, lemme just tell ya, it wreaked havoc on my mental health, because I had always known the truth. Not only is it @busive to keep silencing your survivors, it is also utterly t0x1c to make your children live a farce, when they likely know deep down exactly how F'd up your behaviours are. They're going to have decades worth of struggles learning to trust their own moral compass again. They deserved better, C deserved better, the survivors deserved better. This is not about being perfect and not making mistakes. It's not even about addiction. Alcohol can make you physically dependent... it can't make you use other people - human beings - as seggs objects. You either have it in you to do that or you don't. These were no little oopsie-doodles. This is about having enough empathy for those around you to not live a double life and leave a trail of devastation in your wake. That's not exactly a high bar.
